Superior vena cava syndrome




Male, 47 years old, with progressive dyspnea was sent to the thoracic service of Hospital Geral - Caxias do sul. X-ray showed right hilar mass with widen superior mediastynum. Clinical relevant fidings were colateral circulation in superior chest and neck, typical superior vena cava syndrome. The patient's initial investigation was done with thoracic and superior abdominal CT, bronchoscopy and mediastynoscopy. Endoscopy confirmed endobronchial tumor at right superior lobe bronchus. Mediastinoscopy findings were bulky mediastynal desease. Both tissue diagnosis were adenocarcinoma. After this investigation, the patient was sent to oncologyc clinical treatment.
